The most important festival in the area. National exhibition of the Bardigiano horse, the local breed. Equestrian shows, competitions, market of typical products, music and gastronomy. Period: Third weekend of September (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Location: Centro Fiere Comano Cavalli (Comano, MS) Organization: Associazione Allevatori Cavalli Comano Admission: Free for the entire duration of the event Description and Activities It is the largest and most important equestrian event in Lunigiana. Organized for over 50 years, it transforms Comano into a three-day celebration entirely dedicated to the world of horses, rural culture, and breeding. The event opens on Friday afternoon with the arrival of horses and riders and the presentation of the Municipal Gonfalone. Key moments of the weekend include: Morphology and Breeding: The central event on Sunday is the National Championship of Apennine Horse Morphology (and the promotion of local breeds and specimens), in addition to morphological evaluations for registration in studbooks. Competitions and Demonstrations: Equestrian skill and riding competitions for both adults and children, technical demonstrations (e.g., Parelli method and natural horsemanship), and evening and afternoon equestrian shows. "Baptism of the Saddle": A fixed event throughout all three days, dedicated to children and those riding a horse for the first time, guided by instructors and experts. Tradition, Music and Gastronomy: The spacious fairgrounds host markets with stalls selling typical local products and handicrafts, bars, and the permanent covered restaurant with a traditional menu. Evenings feature country dancing shows and entertainment with DJ sets.
