    What Gragnola is

    Gragnola is a medieval village in Lunigiana, a hamlet of Fivizzano, dominated by the imposing Castello dell'Aquila. The village retains stone alleys, arches, covered passageways and an authentic atmosphere.

    The castle, which overlooks the village from above, is one of the most striking Malaspina fortresses in the area. Village and castle can be visited together in a couple of hours.
