![Equi Terme — the village and the mountains]

What it is and why go

Equi Terme is a small village nestled in the Apuan Alps, in the municipality of Fivizzano. It's the right place for those who want to alternate the silence of Camporaghena with a day of activities: caves, climbing, caving, e-bikes. And if you just want to relax, there are the thermal baths.

The village itself is small but well kept. The real attraction is the Equi Caves, an underground route among stalactites and lakes, and the Tecchia Museum, which tells the prehistory of the area. Perfect for a day of exploration.

    What to see and do

    • Equi Caves — Guided tour among stalactites, stalagmites and underground lakes. ~1 hour
    • Tecchia Museum — Prehistoric finds from the area
    • Caving Adventure — Caving route for the adventurous
    • Climbing — Equipped walls for all levels
    • E-bike — Rental and routes in the valley

Who it's for and who it's not

Equi Terme is for you if:

    • You want to visit spectacular caves without extreme caving
    • You're looking for outdoor activities (climbing, e-bike)
    • You're travelling with children (caves and museum are suitable)
    • You want a destination for a rainy day (the caves are indoors)

Equi Terme is NOT for you if:

    • You suffer from claustrophobia (the caves are enclosed spaces)
    • You can't walk on uneven ground (the caves have stairs and narrow passages)
    • You're looking for a traditional medieval village (Equi is small, the attraction is the caves)
